Despite some suggestions to the contrary, MondoMouse has not been abandoned, it's just been very ill for a while and required extensive intensive care to get it up on its feet again.
I'm not kidding, the bugs I've been tracking have been a bitch but there's light at the end of the tunnel. And I don't mean in the sense of "MondoMouse, come toward the light".
As a result I now have an updated beta for 1.4.4. The only changes are general stability and reliability improvements. As with the apparently-ancient previous beta, this is intended for users of Mac OS X 10.6+, but will work on 10.5 as well.
You can download the beta here.

It seems MondoMouse and TextEdit are strongly coupled in this release. In fact, I can't close one without closing the other:
Mar 24 21:27:45 /usr/bin/killall TextEdit
Mar 24 21:27:45 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[111] (com.atomicbird.mondomouse[72684]): Exited: Terminated
Mar 24 21:27:46 usr/bin/killall TextEdit
Mar 24 21:27:46 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[111] (com.atomicbird.mondomouse[72739]): Exited: Terminated
Mar 24 21:27:46 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[111] (com.atomicbird.mondomouse): Throttling respawn: Will start in 9 seconds
Toggling the checkbox in the PrefPane turns my TextEdit on/off as well ;)

I'm looking into this. Would you tell me (a) what version of Mac OS X you're using, and (b) when you installed MondoMouse, did you ask System Preferences to install "for this user only" or for all users on the Mac?

I think the new beta I uploaded today (beta 4) should fix this. Please give it a try and let me know.
